Please Note:  Classes are designated for specific age groups but we can be flexible.  If a different time works for best for you or your child's schedule, please inquire about alternative class time availability.

Our Pottery Studio is currently located upstairs in Howden Hall next to the Merchants Bank.

Matlak Kwauhtli Mayforth, Potter in residence and manager of the Studio, is self-taught and has been working with clay for over 28 years.  Her lovely pottery is marketed world wide, locally at the Studio and, at Art on Main.

Birthday Parties at the Clay Studio!
Bring your birthday guests to the studio for 1 1/2 hours of memorable clay fun. You and your friends will be given instruction and materials to allow the creation of a lasting piece of art.

Party days are: Mondays and Fridays after 3:30 pm & Saturday or Sunday afternoons. Max. 10 guests
Fee: $50 plus $10 per studentCall 453-5885 to schedule.

Pee Wee Pottery
Ages 3-5

May 10-June 14, Saturdays, 9:30-10:30am
at the Bristol Clay Studio.  Squish, roll, pinch and stick! Join a great bunch of kids who gather once a week to create amazing creatures in clay. Basic hand building skills are discussed and explored. Kids are allowed
to let their imaginations fly.  Parents are encouraged to join in the fun.

Tuesday Clay
Grades: 1-3

May 6-June 10, 3:15-4:45pm at the Bristol Clay Studio.  Student may choose to explore making functional or nonfunctional objects of clay using a variety of hand building techniques or throwing on the wheel. Glazing techniques included.

Thursday Clay
Grades: 4-6

Teen & Adult Pottery

May 7 - June 11, Wednesdays, 6-8pm at the Bristol Clay Studio.  Enjoy getting your hands in clay! Learn new techniques, either hand building or throwing on the wheel to create functional or non-functional pottery. Tap into your creative potential in a relaxed,
supportive environment. Glazing techniques will be
taught and all work fired in our kiln.
Fee: $90 (includes materials, glazes & firings)

Ogres, Dragons, & Unicorns Clay Camp
Ages 7-12 Max. 10

Who is that emerging from the clay? Together we will discover ways to create amazing creatures as our hands explore the wonders of clay. We will learn hand building techniques to bring your imaginations into form. The mornings will be filled with clay, stories,
music & fun!
Fee: $80 (includes clay, glazes & firing) Kids are encouraged to bring a snack.


Clay is Cool Camp
Ages 7-12 Max. 10

July 21- 25, 9:30am-Noon
Just about anything can be made out of clay. We will play and explore in an instructive, relaxed atmosphere how to build all kinds of wondrous creatures and paint them with colored slips. We will inspire one another with music, stories and friendship.
Fee: $80 (includes clay, glazes & firings) Kids are encouraged to bring a snack.


On the Wheel Making Pots Clay Camp
Ages 9-13 Max. 10
Class # 2172
August 18-22, 9:30am -Noon
In this camp you will explore the art and skills of wheel throwing and hand building. Kids will have the
opportunity to practice wedging, centering and forming pots on the wheel in a supportive, fun environment.
Fee: $80 (includes clay, glazes and firing) Kids are encouraged to bring a snack.
