Movie Making 101
Ages 10-14 Class #2658
July 26-30, 9am- Noon at Neat TV Station, Main St. in Bristol
Speilberg, Scorsese and You! Learn how to shoot & edit your own movies. This is a hands on video production workshop. Digital camcorders & movie editing equipment provided but if you have a camcorder, please bring it. Finished movies will be aired on NEAT TV (our local public access television station).

CSI Camp

Class #2661 Aug. 9-13, 9:30am - Noon at Holley Hall
Become a Crime Scene Investigator! This camp is designed to introduce students to the world of forensic science. Working with Bristol Police Department, campers will learn the techniques and methods of forensic science used by law enforcement officers. Working with their CSI team members, campers will collect evidence to solve their very own crime! You will learn hands-on science testing, as well as meet local law enforcement professionals.
Fee: $65 All proceeds for this camp will go to the Bristol Recreation Scholarship Fund. Hats off to Bristol Police!
Meditation for Stress and Depression

Research shows that meditation can reduce stress and depression. This course for beginners focuses on techniques that include: quieting the mind, feeling grounded, mindfulness (using the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction method from Umass Medical Center) and finding the time to put regular meditation into the daily life of busy people.
Fee: $40 four sessions or $12 per session

Learn the basics of how to play a harmonica with local master Harmonica virtuoso Mark Lavoie.

Instructor: Mark has been performing for more than 30 years. His passion for and commitment to music, particularly blues harmonica, is admired by the many musicians who have played with him.

A class for the young at heart interested in learning to play the ukulele. Lessons include Ukulele anatomy, posture, tuning, chords & scales. Simple songs and ukulele care.

Co-taught by Ken Lutton, who has been a musician for his entire life and Jennifer Vyhnak, founder of VT Ukulele Society, who has been performing and singing all her life.
Cooking with Chef Bill Perta
You will cook the food that will soon be available in your gardens and the Bristol Farmer’s Market, plus a few dishes from around the world. This is a hands on—prepare the food class and after you will sit together and dine on what you’ve created. Dishes will include: rubs and marinara’s for grilling meats & vegetables, making paella, quick pasta sauces and more.

The Secret Life of Dragons
Unicorns & Mythical Creatures Ages 7-10
Class # 2648 July 19-23, 9am-Noon at the Bristol Pottery Studio. In this art class you will explore a variety of media (paper mache, painting, drawing, collage, clay) in the creation of making a magical creature. With these materials, you'll design a dragon or unicorn out of collage, clay and /or paper mache. Using your imagination, you'll surround your dragon or unicorn with items that they may need!
Fee: $60 plus $10 for Materials (Please bring a smock.)
Instructor: Jen Kane, local artist and teacher who enjoys sharing her arts knowledge and skills with children.
